More Create a Critter cards

These are not some of my favourites. I was struggling lately with them. I think I am going to take a break from cards for a bit and get some scrapbooking done. I need to replenish my scrap pile anyways :)

Card for Momo's Spots and Dots Challenge

Here is my card for Momo's challenge. I used the Create a Critter cartridge of course because if you remember I am challenging myself with this cart. (see past posts for details) I have no idea where this spotted paper came from it has been in my scrap pile for ages begging me to use it up. For the words I used the ruff from the same page as the doggy pg 34 but the day I got from the ducky on page 31. Thanks for the inspiration Momo and Thank you everyone else for coming to check out my blog! Become a follower and leave me a link to check out your blog I love seeing others creations!

Button Organization

So yesterday I was trying to craft and getting fustrated because all my buttons were in little baggies and I had to pull them all out of the jars to even see what I had. I get most of my buttons at Frenchy's. For those of you who do not have this wonderful store, it is a used clothing store where everything is thrown in bins and you actually have to dig through the clothes/misc. items. Now... it is hard work but super cheap and very rewarding if you have patience, practice and a washing machine. One of my favourite bins to look through is the button one! Here is where they put all the buttons they have cut off clothing that is too 'used' for anything other then to cut up and sell for rags (yup, they sell every last piece). I find the best buttons, beads and bling in this bin and depending on how much is in the little baggie it costs between .10 to .35 cents! I have been collecting from there for a while and just throwing my baggies in my jars but I have so much now I can not see what I have. I ended up dumping all the buttons out and putting them in colour coded bags, then I put just these few bags back in the jars. *sigh* this is going to make life so much easier!!!

Create a Critter Cards 10-12

I just can't get enough of this cartridge!!! Everything is just so Cute! Also, on a side note I have yet to venture out of my scrap pile. If I don't have the colour I am looking for I just tell myself I have to pick another and so far I still love all my finished creations! My scrap pile is getting down to a very reasonable size and I am slowly taming the perfectionist inside me :)

Altered Notebooks

Hello Everyone,
Here are some altered notebooks I made for a couple of friends for their combined baby shower. They were super easy to do and inexpensive because I got the books at the dollarstore and then used used stickers and buttons I already had. A quick, easy and budget friendly gift idea! I also looked up baby quotes online and wrote one every few pages and decorated around them with stickers! Sorry about the picture quality I am not feeling 100% and was in a hurry so I didn't check the pictures on the camera before I uploaded them and well this is what I ended up with.

Need a little help from the crafting community

Hello everyone, I am interested in buying a set of the peachy keen stamps but I am not sure which ones I should order and would hate to get the wrong ones. I want them for my paper doll cartridge cut outs and usually cut the dolls at the 3" or 4" size. I am more interested in happy faces then a silly or sad ones. Any ideas?

Challenging Myself!

I am a little slow on the bandwagon but I jumped on and bought the Create-a-critter cartridge! And well... I'm as in love as everyone else! I started the first night flipping throught the book and stopping to cut when I saw something cute! I made a couple cards and then I got this great idea, why not start right at the beginning of the book and create one card for each of the cute little critters and then I can really see all of them! My mission was clear! However, within the first couple pages I realized that not only were the main 50 critters cute but also many of the extras! So here is the deal I am going to make one card for each critter (the main 50 and any add ons that I deem cute enough to deserve their own card)! I am not giving myself a time limit and if it takes me a year or more that is fine but it is a goal that I will putter away at when ever I feel the creative itch! Feel free to join me and please send me links to any cards you have created with this cartridge because I will need all the inspriation I can get!
Wish me luck! Happy crafting! Here are the first few!

Much Better!

First I would like to thank my new followers! Second, I am sooooo very excited that I figured out a nice new look for my blog as the dark purple was pretty but I was finding it much too dark for my posts. I love my new look which I am actually surprised about because I am such a pinky/purple girl that I normally would never think to pick a blueish colour but I am really liking the effect! Hope it is much easier on your eyes! Thanks again everyone for all the inspiration and postive comments!

Mini Notebooks

These cute little guys are notebooks that I make to give out as prizes to the students that I tutor after school. They love getting getting them along with a funky pencil but they know I make them work for them!!! :) These books are 11cm (4") by 9cm (3.5") A lot of the designs on the top are mis-cuts from other projects that I toss into a container to use later on these and other projects. The paper I use for the front and back covers come directly from my scrap pile! They are a great way to use up all those leftovers that are not big enough for much else!
Recipe:
Scrap papers
BindMate and combs
plain white paper
All your mis-cuts you didn't have the heart to throw out!

Grad Card / Momo's Challenge (June 8)

This is a graduation card that I made for my brother. He was just finished his Bachelor of Business at Acadia University. I am a proud older sister! This was the first male card that I have created it was hard because I really wanted to add just a bit of ribbon or a touch of bling. I find cards look more finished with that something extra. For this once I refrained from the fluff!

I figured it out FINALLY!

Hello Everyone,
I figured out why part of my slideshow was cut off. I ended up having to change my template and then of course my background would not work so I had to then change that. All in all I got it worked out but now I think everything looks really dark. I am sure I will change it a hundred more times before I am happy but at least for now you can see my entire scrapbook! Thanks for looking!

This is a scrapbook that I completed recently. The trip was three years ago but it was one of those things I never got around to. It is my first scrapbook that I have completely done start to finish since getting my cricut and I love the way it turned out. (I hope you like it Cassie, can't wait until you visit and I can show it to you in person)! Sorry it is cut off guys....this blog thing is harder then it looks :s If anyone can help me please leave a comment!

My Mom was hosting a benefit bake sale last weekend. Not only did I make some yummy banana chocolate chip muffins I also made this sign for the front of the table! I used the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge (pg 73). I cut the Doll out using the fit to page feature on the Cricut Expression with the 12x12 paper. I can't remember what size she was cut at. Just remember to peek while you are doing it so you can cut all her pieces out at the same size. The letters were cut at 9". I've had both the Paper Doll carts for a long time but have just recently really began to play with them. I forgot I bought them because they were so darn cute!

My First A2 Size Cards

These are the cards that I created this year on NSD. They were the first A2 non-cricut designed cards I ever made. I am impressed with some of them but it is clear I have come a long way in my card making in only a month! Some more current photos to come very soon!

MPS Fathers Day Challenge

I hope this is not too late but even if it is I still had fun making it.... all my cuts were made totally from scraps, that is what I love about the paper dolls cartridges(Pg 54) I made this card for my daddy! Now I can't wait to give it to him! Good luck everyone! :)

Here are the first cards I ever created. I made tem to take with us on our trip to Cuba in March as thanks yous for the staff at our resort. I used my Life is a Beach Cartridge and used the card feature included on it. I used 8.5 by 11 paper and used the set paper size button and then fit to page feature on my cricut expression. They were all cut out at 7". I nipped and pasted some of my own alterations so what you see might not be exactly what was cut on the machine. The cards fit in a standard size card envelope. They turned out really cute!
