Using up the scraps Project #1

Hello Crafters,
I thought I would do a little mini series showing you all the things I have made using up my scraps. Many of the ideas will be scraplifted but I will give credit to the source of the idea :) I just know there are a ton of you out there with piles upon piles of scraps too and I hope you might find some good ideas for using them up!
I showed you some pages on NSD of an 8 x 8 scrapbook I have been working on for a little girl I know and while I was trying to think about some non-theme related pages to put in it for those everyday pictures I started playing around with my scrap strips. I began layering them and this is what I ended up with....Love it! Of course the middle ended us looking very messy but once the photo mat was in place no one has to know. I will warn you this page is crazy thick though! The date stamp is from Elles Studio and the flower is from Dollarama.
Thanks for stopping by and come back soon to see more using up your scraps ideas soon!

He gave the ring, I got my bling!

Hello Crafters,
So here is a layout that I started months ago! I started it and then when it failed to turn into what I had envisioned I threw it in a pile and forgot about it. Recently, it re-surfaced and I thought and thought about it until finally I decided to pull it apart and take out the parts that I was not in love with. I then put it all back together and ended up with this...which I love! I was a slow and painful process but it is the first 12 x 12 layout that I have created in over a year! I hope this is the start of many more layouts as I miss scrapbooking which was my first passion. It seems so intimidating now though. Cards are just so quick and easy but scrapbooking seems to take so much more time and there is no end. We shall see what happens! Oh and the best part of the entire ordeal...once finished I starting looking through the pictures on the computer for one of my ring and realized that I have never taken a picture of my ring...I have had it since October!
Tara
P.S. as for the recipe I have no idea...I know I welded the letters on design studio but can't tell you from what cartridge. I also manipulated the rings to make them work (again not sure where they are from) I did use a couple Elles Studio printable tags on it.

Birthday Sundaes Challenge # 10

Hello Crafters,
This week for the Birthday Sundaes challenge it is to use pearls and lace on your cards. Head over to the Birthday Sundaes blog and see the rest of the design teams creations. Everyone has out done themselves! After getting your weekly dose of amazing inspiration set out to crafting and show us what you can make with pearls and lace. I can't wait to see all the 'pretty' entires :)

For my card I used up some more scraps (you should see the dent I have been putting in the pile)! I also used my new Elles Studio birthday stamp and my Martha Stewart butterfly punch I got from The Scrapbooking Cafe for a smoking good deal! Everything came together so nicely and I am lovin' the finished product. Don't you just love when that happens?!
Happy Crafting and I promise I will be much more on the ball with my posting this week!

Made by Momo Challenge

Hello Everyone,
When I saw that the challenge last week on the blog Made by Momo was all about princesses I was so excited. I have had this idea in my head for a while now and this was just the push to get me started. Here is what I worked on over the weekend...

Recipe:
CDS - Plantin Schoolbook & Paper Dolls Dress Up
Patterned papers -  DCWV All about girls glitter pack
Purple Glitter paper - Colorbok
Tags - Elles Studio you can buy the printables (what I used) at Jessicasprague.com
Embellishments - from my stash
Tulle to decorate binding
Things to note:
1. I didn't use any Cricut cuts other then the main book, I am trying to use up some stuff that has been collecting some major dust in the last year since my bug arrived.
2. Colorbok glitter paper is very messy and I think I had more on me then my book did by the time I was finished.
3. I got to use one of my newly made beaded flower embellishments and three mini glue dots held it in place perfect!
4. Yes, I really was a princess once (for my community) and Miss Congeniality for an entire year! You know what they say, once a princess always a princess ;)

Summer Documented Mini

Hello Crafters,
Have you heard of Elles Studio? If not you NEED to head on over there. Well, wait, not this minute finish this post first :) Elles Studio has many digital products but also sell hybrid stuff too. You can order the stuff and have it snail mailed to you or you can order the digital/hybrid stuff and print it yourself at http://www.jessicasprague.com/. That is what I do so that I can print it off as many times as I like.

I am an avid stalker of Sheri from http://auntierere.blogspot.com/  She is one of the designers for Elles Studio and when I saw how she used the 'Summer Documented' kit I purchased it right away however, it then sat on my computer for months while my Cricut obsession wore on. It was just recently I decided to print all those great digital/hybrid products I purchased over the last few months (when my Cricut was MIA, see past posts if you are a newer follower). Then I totally scrap lifted her idea. Here is the link to her original Summer Documented mini

Below are the pictures (I finally took) of the pages of my mini. Beware there are a ton because I wanted you to be able to see each page spread plus a closer look at each page to see the elements.
Enjoy!
