JustWordz DT blog hop!

Hi Crafters,
Today is the farewell blog hop for us Justwordz DT members. I write this post with a little ache in my heart. I have been part of this fabulous DT from the beginning and I will miss it dearly but the good news is that I still have all three sets of the JustWordz stamps so I will be able to continue creating with them to my hearts content :)  If you have ever wanted to get your hands on these incredible sentiment stamps now is the time. There is also a giveaway going on and some blog hop candy so make sure you have gone to the JustWordz blog and checked out all the details before you continue on the hop today.
Below is my card inspiration for you this week. A bit racier then my usual style but when I saw that digi I was sent I went with it!

One last thing before I go....I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to Kim (owner of JustWordz stamp line) for letting me have so much fun playing with your stamps! I have got to know you well and I am so glad I was able to be part of your design team but also that I am now able to call you my friend. I wish you all the luck in the world on your next chapter! :)

You next stop is Samantha!  Enjoy your last dose of JustWordz DT inspiration!
Happy Crafting!

JustWordz DT Friday!

Hi Crafters, Are you ready for another dose of JustWordz inspiration? This week not only did I use JustWordz stamps I also used an image from Redonkulous Designs. These two stamp lines pair up so nicely together. Okay honestly, JustWordz pair up nicely with anything from a stamped image to a Cricut cut because there are endless sentiments you can create with them!

I try something different this week on my card. I wanted the dress to be white but well you can't actually colour in white (well maybe you can but not on white paper lol) I instead used a Versamark pen, Heat and Stick powder and loose Ice Glitter. It didn't turn out exactly how I pictured but not bad and it was super fast to do! You should see her dress shine in real life!

Make sure you stop by the JustWordz blog and check out the rest of the DT creations!
Happy Crafting!

Hi Everyone and welcome back to another Justwordz DT Friday! I am so excited to share my card with you today, it is one of my favourite ones that I have created lately! The image I used was a freebie from
Stamping boutique I coloured it up with my Prisma coloured pencils and Gamsol and then used stickles and Glossy Accents to give it a neat 'real' window effect. Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to check out the JustWordz blog and the rest of the design team for some great inspiration! Justwordz DT Friday!

Hi Everyone,
Today is a special day not only because it is Justwordz DT day but it is also Remembrance Day here in Canada. It is in honour of Remembrance Day that I created my card that I am sharing today. I just googled poppy colouring pages (actually spell it the non-Canadian way without the 'u' for better search results...I have learned from experience, lol) The one I choose to use was from this link. It worked perfectly for the front of my card! I coloured it up with my Prisma coloured pencils and Gamsol then used glossy accents on the flowers with a black pearl pen for the centre. The red 'gems' in the top corner are also a pearl pen.

Justwordz DT Friday!

Hi Crafters,

This week for the Justwordz DT we were asked to make a shape card. I have only ever made one of these before and it does not go so well so I started this one when I knew I had a lot of time! Funny thing was it whipped up in no time at all...it's that just aways the way lol. I decided to try the shape feature on the Hello Kitty cartridge again (this was the cartridge I used for my last shape card that gave me so much trouble) I was not going to let this cartridge get the best of me plus it is just too stinkin' cute and there is really no reason I don't pull it out more.

I made this card for a super sweet friend who always has a smile and a kind word for everyone. She is starting up her own business while still teaching full time and is a total inspiration to me! I am going to give her this card just for being herself :) She used to teach in China and I am not sure if it is something in the air there or what but when she came back she was a huge Hello Kitty fan! Enjoy,Catherine :)

Justwordz DT Friday!

Hi Everyone,

This week for the Justwordz DT project we were asked to make a card with a special occasion theme. My special occasion was anniversary. For my project I made a modern anniversary card. I used some non-traditional anniversary colours and I think it has a fun, bright feel to it! I also decided on this card that I have been trying to 'keep up with the Jones' " when it comes to embellishing my cards and truly I am just a plain and simple girl. Less is more for me :) I'm heading back to my roots!

Guess what??? We have exciting news this week! Kim is about to release two new stamp sets! A party invite set and the other is a Christmas set! Annnnnddddd for a limited time she is taking pre-orders for a introductory price of $18.99!!! Thinking about it aren't ya? Well, I'll show you them....

(Remember you can click on the image to see it larger so you can see each and every beautiful word on these amazing sets)!

Okay, on a side note I have recently changed my blog address and I had no idea this was going to mess things up for my followers. If you are here as a follower great...but have you noticed that my posts have not been showing up in your blog roll? What you need to do is stop following me and then re-follow so you have my new URL link working from you dashboard. If you could do this it would be great and please help me spread the word as I miss all my wonderful followers and their sweet comments! Justwordz DT Friday!

Hi Everyone,
This week for the Justwordz DT project Kim gave us a hard one....we had to make a tag. Sounds simple enough and it was other then a panic I felt before I started as this was my first ever tag! Honestly though, I am super proud of this one. I really love how it turned out and I went really far outside my box!

You'll notice I used all really bright colours this week. Well, that is because the day I was making it was sunny and 25. I was in a bit of a tropical mood after the terrible weather we have been experiencing here in Nova Scotia this summer.

One of the neat things I did on this tag that was outside my norm was that I created the background paper. After getting the tag cut out in the blue it looked like it was missing something. I bought these circle Hero Arts stamps a while ago and have never inked them up so I gave it a shot. You can't really tell that the dots are all in circles after I got everything on but I still really liked the effect.

I also did some inking on this card which I am slowly feeling more confident doing (having the right supplies really helps...get yourself some artist sponges and you will be glad)

To finish off the card I sprayed it with glimmer mist (this was another one of those had to have items that has been collecting some major dust). Now this was the part I was scared to death to do as it was finished and I always seem to mess it up when I just want to add that 'little something' right at the end. Does this happen to anyone else? Anyways you can't see it in the picture but the entire tag is all simmery and looks awesome!!!

Ok if you are still with me thanks...not sure why I am so long winded today (home alone with no one else to talk to maybe lol) Don't forget to head over to the Justwordz blog to check out the rest of the DT creations as I know they are going to be amazing!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Birthday Sundaes challenge #24

Hi Everyone,
This week the challenge on Birthday Sundaes is a photo inspiration challenge. Here is a peek at the photo...

And here is a look at my card I was inspired to make ...

(sorry this pic is so dark I had to take it at night)

Details:
Staples Brand white cardstock (I love this stuff..thick and super smooth)
Coloured cardstock is Recollections
Banner stamp from Michael's
Chalk inks from Michael's
Sentiment: Justwordz Everyday Sentiments stamp set
Twinery Baker's Twine
Baubles from My Stamping Studio

I have seen cards similar to this made and wanted give it a try. I inked up a Michael's stamp that I bought forever ago and never used. I stamped each colour a few times and then cut all the little flags out leaving myself enough paper on the top of each one to be able to fold it over the twine to create a banner. Overall, I love the effect but as simple as it looks...it was a lot of work!

Head over to the Birthday Sundaes blog to see how all the other DT members were inspired and then get crafty!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
