7 Months to Christmas Blog Hop

Hi Everyone and welcome to the 7 Months to Christmas Blog Hop,
If you have arrived here from Heather you are in the right spot. If you want to start at the beginning then head to Heather's Blog. I can't believe how fast each month this year is going. It seems like we just did the April Blog Hop and here we are again! I am so glad that I am going to have a great start (maybe even finish) on my Christmas cards before the holidays actually hit this year. If you are new you might be wondering how this works.... there is a group of us crafters that have commited to creating two Chirstmas cards and posting them on the 25th each month. I can't take credit for this idea, it started with just Heather and Shari and have turned into this amazing Blog Hop every month.

This month I cheated a wee bit....we are suppose to each month create one card using a die cut and one with a stamped image that we coloured in. Well, since I love stamping and sometimes my stamped images don't need to be coloured in I figured I would sneak it in! My stamped card is yet another scraplifted idea (why make up my own when there are so many fab Stampin' Up cards out there lol. I did change up the colours a bit though) I am really trying hard to use all the supplies that I have on hand and I just feel that lately my poor stamps have been getting neglected. I dusted off my Stampin' Up doily set and have been stamping up a storm with them! This is currently my new favourite set because it is just so stinkin' vesitile!

8 Months Until Christmas Blog Hop

Hi Crafters,
I'm back!!! I enjoyed my break very much but I missed blogland and all my crafty friends! Thanks to everyone who sent me sweet comments and emails over the past month. I loved hearing from all of you! Today is a special day...not only am I posting again but I am also taking part in a blog hop! The 8 Months Until Christmas Blog Hop. I am the last stop on the blog hop so if you would like to start at the beginning you will want to head to Georgiana's blog. Each person on the hop today has created 2 Christmas cards to share (one colouring an image and one using a die cut). Birthday Sundaes Challenge #19

Using up the scraps project #8

Hello Crafters,
I have a neat one for you today. It uses up some of those strips again. It is another one of those techniques where it doesn't matter what colours/patterns you use, it always comes out looking super cool. It is called the bargello technique. Here is the link for the tutorial I used. There is a photo tutorial and a video demo at the bottom. I made two cards and then stepped a little outside the box and did a huge one that I can use for a scrapbook layout. I have not actually done the layout yet but the base looks cool! I will show that one to you when the layout is complete. Hopefully sometime soon...if you have seen my scrapbooking mojo in the last year please send it back...I will gladly send you my card making mojo, lol!

Hello Crafters,
Here is another couple of projects that I have created using some of my long thin scraps. The scrapbook layout is another 8 x 8. The Cricut cut on it is also sort of a scrap, a while ago while attending a mini crop I cut a whole bunch of pieces out from cartridges my friend owned that I didn't. I finally decided to stop stashing them and go ahead and use them lol. The cut is from the A Child's Year cartridge.The little stars are from a dollar store punch. I loved this layout so much that I decided to use the scraps from the layout to create a card! Talk about using every last piece :)
The sentiment stamp is from the Simply Everything stamp set by Pink By Design and the date stamp is from Elles Studio (I'm in love with this stamp and will probably make you sick of it lol)

P.S. These pictures are terrible as we have had the worst weather here lately and my natural light is bad on a nice Sunny day lol. In real life the colours are super bright and they just pop!

Hello Crafters,
I have a funny story before I show you my card tonight. Actually, it is a funny story about how this card came to be! My friend was over the other day and asked if I could make a birthday card for her to give. She wanted a Winnie the Pooh on it. My response was I don't have a cartridge with Winnie the Pooh. I started to look through my cartridges saying things like "I wonder if my Mickey and Friends cartridge would have a Pooh on it?" "Pooh is a Disney character right?" Then all at once I saw it....the Winnie the Pooh cartridge I bought opening weekend at my local Michael's in October. I bought it along with all the other Disney cartridges I own for $19.99! And yup I have NEVER used it...actually forgot I even owned it lol. The really funny part is now that I am typing this I even remember my other friend using this cartridge of mine to make a bunch of stuff for her baby's room not that long ago!
Needless to say I then got crafting and created this card.....
Please say something like this has happened to you too!?

Creative Sisters Challenge

This weekend flew by and so I didn't really get a chance to check out the Pink Stamper blog hop until today. I am telling you though I am glad I took the time. The inspiration was whirling around in my head after seeing her design team's projects and checking out some of the other blogs that had linked up. After soaking up as much as I could I headed into my own craft land. The project was to be spring related and after seeing so many butterflies I knew that was what I wanted to make.

My Sheri Crafts Challenge

Hello Crafting Friends,
I stumbed across a 'new to me blog' recently My Sheri Crafts and there is a challenge going on there right now. The challenge is 'All about Boys'. I have been playing with the idea of making up a few card sets to have as gifts and after playing with my Mini Monsters cartridge the other day I thought why not do a set all with monsters! I need to start thinking outside the box like this more. I actually tucked this cartridge and my Jolly Holidays one to the back of my cabinet because I said to myself  "well, those are seasonal and I will not need them anytime soon." Then I get amazed when I see people making stuff with them 'out of season' lol. So here is my card for the challenge.

BBTB2 Challenge

Hello Crafters,
What a productive weekend this feels like. I think it may be because my wonderful fiance cleaned all the floors and did some of the laundry while I was out shopping with a friend yesterday. And no you can't borrow him :) Because all that was done it means I have had a great deal more time then usual this weekend to play in my craft room.

The challenge over on Bitten by the Bug Blog is to make something using the fishing cut from A child's Year. I don;t own this cartridge but can always use more masculine cards in my stash. So I made one using the fishing cut from the Going Places cartridge.

Pink Stamper Birthday Challenge

This was the first cut I made with my Rock Princess cartridge and I think I am in love! I just love how the card turned out. I even have the perfect person to give it to, although her birthday isn't until May, but hey never hurts to be ahead of the game right?!

*see the teenie tiny star bling on her guitar and on her bows? That was from the set below that I got at Dollarama. If you can get your hands on it they rock! I have stars and flowers and wish I had more. They are perfect for the little details that most regular bling is too big for.

My Creative Time Challenge
