Birthday Sundaes Blog Hop

Hello Everyone and welcome to the first ever Birthday Sundaes blog hop!
If you have rrived here from Samantha @ http://hooliewoodcreations.blogspot.com/ then you are on track. If you have just happened on my blog and would like to start at the beginning here is your first stop should be the Birthday Sundaes Blog
This week we are saying goodbye to some of the first design team and welcome to the new crew. I will be staying on the team!!! I would like to say a personal farewell to all the wonderful ladies that were on the first Birthday Sundaes DT and to tell you it was a pleasure working with you. You made my first DT experience wonderful! To the new DT, I can't wait to see all your amazing talent and get some great inspiration!
The challenge this week to help us celebrate is to create something with "cakes and cupcakes!"

I choose to use a digital stamp this week because when I started this DT it was something that I had very little experience with. We used digital stamps a few times over the last few months from sponsors and through this a new obsession has been created lol. Hope you like this cutie as much as I do! I really stepped out of my comfort zone on this card using mostly patterned paper. I love just plain ol' cardstock usually but have really been trying to use up the mountain of patterned paper I have "somehow" acquired :)

Well, I best be letting you hop along. Enjoy the blog hop and I can't wait to see everyone's creations this week! Oh wait....one more thing....would you like the chance to win some blog candy? Along with my new digital stamp obsession I have also developed an addiction to making embellishments. I would love to send someone a collection of a few of these. (sorry I don't have a picture right now but there will be beaded flowers, stick pins, lace flowers, dyed "skittles, etc.) be entered just leave a comment on this post with a way to get a hold of you if you win. I would love if you were a follower but it is not mandatory. However, if you are and you leave that in your comment also I might add a little something extra for you! :)

Your next stop is Candice @ http://stampinpearls.blogspot.com/
Happy crafting everyone!
Tara

Thank you Cards

Hi Everyone,
Lately I have needed a ton of thank you cards. I also had a bunch of blog candy to mail out and wanted to send a card with these as well.  So I decided it was time for some mass production. I pulled out my Stampin' Up Beautiful Wings embosslit, which I had to have and have only used once.... Well, it got a work out for these cards! It is the neatest little die cutter ever because it cuts and embosses all in one quick step. I am positive I will be making many more cards with this in the future! Plus it used up a ton of scraps :)
Happy crafting!

My birthday card from Brian

Hi Everyone,
I was so excited to post yesterday because I wanted to tell you everything I got for my birthday but also I wanted to show you the card Brian had made for me. I guess I was a tad too excited about the gifts because I didn't realize until this morning when I was checking my comments that I never even mentioned the card and that was the best part lol. Well, here it is in all of it's Cricut glory...a truly man made card!

And this was my favourite part :)

Checking in!

Hi Everyone,
I have been a little MIA from blogging world and my craft room lately. I promise I am going to catch up on everyone's blogs very soon! Yesterday was my birthday and Brian surprised me by getting the day off work to spend with me. We headed to the South Shore of my beautiful province (Nova Scotia) which is about an hour and a half drive for us and spent the day popping in and out of all the little shops there. It was so much fun and yet on the drive home I realized I only spent $3 all day and didn't even buy anything for myself...so NOT like me lol. I guess maybe it was because there were no craft stores there :)

Anyways, I had a wonderful birthday and got a bit spoiled! Want to know all the great stuff I got?.....
Tickets to Cirque Du Soleil and a supper out in the city!
A new Samsung Digital camera (with the LCD screen in the front too)!
A Michael's GC
A Chapter's GC
A GC to my fav local restaurant
Some spending money
My Nanny picked me a huge bucket of fresh wild blueberries!!! Yummy
Some bath goodies
New Earrings
A countdown calendar for my wedding
Rock band 3 (I'm a tad hoarse today hehe)

Yup.....I am spoiled and I love it :)
Now as for today......scrapping away!!!

Another Winner!

Hi Everyone,
I just recieved an email from one of the winners from the Canada Day blog hop who won a $10 gift certificated to The Scrapbooking Cafe. She kindly asked me if I would draw another winner because she lives in the US and with shipping and customs fees she felt someone in Canada would benefit much more from this prize. Isn't that nice of her to passs the love on to someone she knows will be able to get so much more out of it?! So without further ado the new winner is.....

Lucky # 13 Dee said...

Great card. Love the LO. Looking forward to the rest of the hop.

Congrats Dee! I will be emailing you shortly :)

June Craft Spending

Hi Everyone,
I finally got around to adding up my June totals for my craft spending. I was a bit scared at first because I knew I was on vacation and I was not going to limit myself too much in any craft stores while I was away. I figured new territory to explore why hold back?!, lol. I guess the good part was I really didin't find much while on vacation and the Michael's were a bit of a disappointment. Oh well what is a disappointment for me is a huge sigh of relief for my wallet :)

6th - Dollarama $4.60
14th - Rewards $5.15
17th - Loonies and Toonies $1.53
17th - Michael's $19.33
17th - My Stamping Studio $16.85
18th - Bargain Harley's $8.75
24th - Michael's (Buffalo, NY) $78.72
27th - LW stores (St. Catherine's, ON) $4.88
27th - Michael's $19.97

Total: $159.78

And here is the part you love:

Felt flower winner!

Hi Everyone,
First of all, I owe an apology. I was a guest crafter on Georgia's blog Carson's Cricut Creations before I headed away on my trip to Ontario. On my post I said I was going to give away some of the felt flowers that I made and then with the trip and the Canada post strike I put off drawing. It wasn't until last night when I couldn't sleep that I realized I never did draw! I have decided since I made everyone wait so long I would draw two winners! So here  they are......

the first winner is #4 CRAZY4CHRIST said...

Very cute!! I am from Ontario, where is it that you going in ontario for holidays? My holidays this year consist of staying in Ontario and going to Niagra falls this book idea would be great for that trip!! Thanks for sharing. sierrababy08 at hotmail dot com

and the second winner is #1 jessica said... great book! Have a super fun trip! Love those flowers!!! TFS

I'll be emailing both of you ladies shortly. If you don't hear from me and see this first please drop me a line @ thecreativeprincess(at)hotmail(dot)com

Thanks everyone who left me a comment and my tripped rocked! Can't wait to visit again :)

Birthday Sundaes Challenge # 17

Hello Crafters,
This week on Birthday Sundaes the challenge is to create a birthday card using only the colours green, orange and white and as always make sure you remember the birthday sentiment on the front of the card. I was stumped when I first saw this challenge but I am pleased to say I love my card this week! I was so excited when I realized that I had a piece of Stampin' up cardstock (green) and ribbon from Dollarama which were the exact same colour. Things like that never happen to me lol. It was pure Irish luck at it's finest :) It was also fun to finally play around with some of that Stampin' Up stuff I bought back in May. Wait until you see the other inspiration from the DT. Everyone aced the challenge this week! I can't wait to see what you come up with!
Happy Crafting!
Tara

My new look!

Hi Everyone,
This post is non-craft related but I just had to share my new look! Last weekend I got my hair CHOPPED off. I was growing it out to donate to Locks of Love and I finally got to the point that it needed to go. It was truly driving me nuts... I am so happy that it is shorter again. My aunt is a hair stylist and works for my mom who owns a salon (does that make sense?) my mother was busy the day I wanted it cut but my aunt had an opening. She was shocked I was not nervous about getting it cut off but then she remembered I am a hair stylist's daughter and have been a guinea pig my whole life! Below are the before and after shots. If you have long hair and are thinking about getting it cut or have hair that grows really fast you should check out the Locks of Love site :)
Have a great evening everyone!
Tara
And I wasn't even trying to make it look bad LOL

How is it that it always looks good after they style it?! Wouldn't it be nice to just have a stylist on call for those bad hair mornings (I've tried it annoys mom...lol)

Below is one of today. I think I am doing an okay job styling it myself. Yay me :) As you can see the curls have come back...I figure just embrace it!

Awards!

Hi Everyone,
I have been getting a lot of blog awards lately and I don't want anyone to be upset that I am not passing them on but I just find it so hard to try and pick only a few people to pass it on to because I love all the blogs I follow :) How can I possibly only pick 5,7,8, or 10 bloggers to pass it on to when there are so many amazing talent people out there. If you have not recieved this blog awards yet and would like one or even both for your blog feel free to pick them up! I follow hundreds of blogs and really I just want to pass them on to everyone I follow for all their great inspiration :)

Thanks Cindy P. from http://cardcrazeeme53.blogspot.com/  and Stacy from  http://lovethatbug.blogspot.com/ for 'The Irresistible Sweet Blog Award".

And thank you Kristie from http://kreativekristie.blogspot.com/

Also, I know this award was passed on to me by another blogger besides Kristie but for the life of me I can't remember/figure out who gave it to me. Please, please message me if it was you as I really want to thank you too!

Have a wonderful day!

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #16 + Using up the scraps project # 11

***The Canada Day blog hop and link up is still in action for the next 5 days. Scroll down to the next post for more information.

Hi everyone,
It's time for a new challenge at Birthday Sundaes. The challenge this week is Anything Goes Birthday. We have a sponsor this week. Stef from Glitterbabe Digis is offering a $10 gift certificate. I used one of her digis called "love vase" for my card.

I also did a neat technique for one of my mats. I made the mat from scraps of paper in a patchwork quilt fashion and then ran the entire thing through my Cuttlebug. I really like the effect! Here is a link that I viewed recently with some really aweome quilting with paper examples  I have not been working with my scraps a lot lately because many of the projects I have been working on required larger sheets of paper but I am still on my mission to keep that scrap pile smaller after putting such a big dent in it with all those scrap cards and 8x8 layouts I was making. I proabably won't be posting as many scrap projects now but I still have a few ideas I want to try. If you are a new follower or missed some just click on my "using up the scraps" label on my sidebar and they should all be there.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful day!
Tara
