What a deal!

Hello Crafty People,
I saw something in one of those photos last night and realized that I never shared the awesome deal that I got on the weekend. I went to a few yard sales with my future in-laws and I found all kinds of crafty goodness!
I only spent $6 in total on all the stuff in the picture below can you believe that!!! The entire box of lace, ribbon and ric rac (sp?) was only $4, the huge tin of buttons was $1, the plastic bead storage container was $1 and the book was free :) I just love a good deal especially when it feeds my addiction and keeps me on budget!
Humm, I wonder if anyone is having a yard sale this weekend.....

Knock your socks off deal!

Hello Crafters,
You are never going to believe this one. Micheals had some of their cartridges coming on for $17.99 this week. I went in on Monday after school to see what might be left. In the aisle there was a sign stating that this location did not have any of the cartridges that were on for $17.99. Now, if you remember the same thing happened a couple weeks ago when they were really cheap and I was told it was because our store was a new one and so they had no older stock to put on clearance. I was a little annoyed that this was looking like the situation again. As I was about to leave a manager addressed me and asked if there was anything she could help with. I explained that I was only interested in the cartridges on sale. Her reply was "I am so sorry but if you care to take a look we have some returned ones up at the checkout that are on clearance for $2 to get rid of them. $2 you say!!! Hummm, returned? I had to the look!!! There were six cartridges all still in their orginial packaging. I had all but two but of course I bought them ALL. You never know when you might need a cartirdge cartridge to give away! ;)
Happy crafting!

Last Haul of 2010!

Hello Crafters,
There is a local store in my area called Bargain Harley's and every year they have an end of the year clearance sale where everything is 44% off. Now, honestly the store is a bargain basement/dollar store already. The stock is never the same and is always odds and ends. They do however have a scrapbooking section but it is hit or miss and I find mostly stickers (which I have started to stay away from since I got my Cricut and already have enough to sink a ship). Friday, however, my friend and I ventured in and am I glad we did! We hit the jackpot of scrapbooking goodies! Below are pictures of everything I got (that was scrapbooking related). I took quite a few pictures so you can really see it all. Below the picture is that prices that I paid for everything. Beware it will shock you and you might feel a tad jealous for just a moment lol!
Enjoy!

Christmas Haul and Boxing Day Sales Haul

Well, I hope Santa found everyone this year and I hope you all got lots of crafty stuff! Below is a picture of my Christmas haul. I got the From my Kitchen cartridge which has been on my wish list forever! I got a laminator which has also been on that list for a very long time! (Maybe that is the teacher coming out in me) I also got a super slim slicer which I wanted to get one day when it was on clearance for $5 but Brian talked me out of it and funny how it turned up in my stocking! My aunt got me a really neat day by day calendar that has scrapbooking embellishments on each day of the year. I was super surprised to get the Big Bite. I have been thinking about getting a crop-a-dile for a while now. Apparently, Brian and my father went into Michael's (I would have loved to be a fly on the wall that day) and when they saw the bigger one decided to get me that one instead (oh...men and their big obession) However, after researching it I am actually super happy I got this one! Brian was unsure what to get me for eyelets so he gave me a $25 gift cert. for Michael's to pick some out. I also, got another $25 one from my future in-laws. So guess what I did yesterday on the 25% off boxing day sale..... scroll down for more

In the picture below is what I got at Michael's yesterday! I used all my gift Cert. and an additional $13.43 but look at what I got! Below the picture I will list what I paid for each item. It was spectacular!

Christmas frame ornaments (red box, 2) $2.62 each
Clear plastic ornaments (4) .51 cents
Clear organizer (1) $5.62
Scalloped Chipboard Albums (6) .67 cents
White Chipboard Albums (12) .56 cents
Eyelets (5) $3.74
Brads (1) $3.74
Textured snow writer (1) $3.22
Snowflake rub ons (2) .85 cents
Calendar (1) .56 cents

Then I went to another local store called Rewards which has an awesome scrapbook section and got more eyelets and brads (I was actually disappointed in Michael's when I realized this store had then way cheaper! For example I got a pack of 100 coloured brads at Michael's for $3.74 on sale and a pack of 300 at Rewards for $2.99 at regular price. I guess I know where I will get getting them in the future! Below is a picture of both the ones at Michael's and the ones from Rewards. You can see the price stickers on the ones from Rewards.

So what did everyone else get? I can't wait to see some haul pictures and videos today!

Shopping Haul

Okay, so I am trying really hard not to get my hopes up about getting my Cricut back this week because every time I do get them up something happens and it's arrival is delayed yet again.

However, on the weekend I went into Michael's and they had four of the Cricut cartridges on for $24.99! The ones that are regular $119.00. I got three! Let's just say it was a good thing that only four were on sale lol. I got Cindy Loo, Winter Frolic and Boys will be Boys.

Plus the fiskars stuff was all 40% off and over the weekend there was a promotion that you got an additional 25% off even on sale items. Seriously, how could I not get the 'give it a swirl' border punch!

I also got some Carnival stickers on clearance which will be perfect for my Trinidad scrapbook since I was there during Carnival 6 years ago.

Lastly, I got some clear plastic ornaments for 75% off.  I will more then likely not have time this year but will make something next year with them.

Okay, so that was it for Michael's but wait there is more....a couple weeks ago I was into Walmart and they had the lite cartridges on for $39.99 (regular $49.99 here) and no we didn't have that great $20.00 black Friday sale. Anyways, I got Jolly Holidays, which again I will more then likely not get to use this year but I held off on the Snow Friends cartridge and now the only place to get it is on Ebay for an arm and a leg. I was not going to make that mistake again!

So here I am with four new cartridges just waiting for my doorbell to ring!

Hoping, wishing, praying

I'm Back!

Okay, the craft fair is over and my apt. is slowly starting to get re-organized. So you heard the good news about my engagement and in that post I mentioned Michaels grand opening. Well, Michaels has only been open a little over two weeks here and I have already been a paying customer four times! Brian and my mother have both now given me very firm instructions that I am not to buy anymore scrapbooking stuff until I start using some of it. Does anyone else have the problem that they buy more then they will ever have time to use in their lifetime? I am going to try really had to not get anything new for a while and I think the Michaels obsession will die down eventually, it is just a new fad for me at the moment....right?! Anyways, here are the first four hauls from there and a picture of a gift basket I bid on and won at a benefit auction, I had to out bid someone else a few times and ended up paying $60 for it which it was clear when I got it home was too much for the stuff in it but it all went to a very good cause. Check back later for some craft fair pictures!

The first time I went in was opening day and because it was Friday and the sale didn't start until Saturday there was NOTHING in the store on sale. I was highly disappointed but still managed to find a few things I wanted. :)

This was my second trip in and it was the grand opening day. This time it seemed the whole store was on sale! I got the cardstock for only $2.49 each. The Martha Stewart Halloween pad was on for 50% off. ($13 something) the Me and my Big Ideas Pad was 40% off $29.99. The chipboard pieces I used a 50% off coupon and got them for $4.98. The cricut cartridges...brace yourself...were only $19.99 each!!! As you can see I got a few lol!

On my third trip in Brian was with me so I had to be a little more careful. :S The Offray ribbon was 4/$1.00. As you can see I got a ton, I just love this ribbon! I got yet another cartridge for $19.99. Seriously who could pass that up?! Finally I got a couple things for my wedding. The stickers in the top picture were only .79 cents and the arch in the lower picture was on special for $29.99 and Brian actually talked me into getting it! That's a first!

By the fourth Micheals trip I was getting better but pretty much because I had bought everything else I wanted hehe. I got this Mini Monsters cartridge for $54.99. and I used another 50% off coupon for this punch and only paid around $10.00 for it.

This is a picture of the gift basket I got from the auction. I have already made a pile fo stuff from it to give to my younger cousin who has just started scrapbooking. There was a few gems I will be keeping for myself though!

Shopping Haul Photos!

I just love looking at ppl photos and videos of their hauls. So I thought I would show you all a couple of recent shopping hauls! They are on the small side as I am on a tight budget right now until school starts and subbing begins again for me but still I got some great deals! It is back to school shopping time and has anyone ever noticed how much everyday school supplies are used in scraping?! I went to three stores Dollarama, Walmart and Staples...you know your everyday stops :)

My best deals were the bling from Dollarama in photo one and the 24 packs of crayons in photo 2. They were only .80 cents at Staples! I bought the 64 packs at Walmart thinking I was getting a good deal at $3.00. I worked it out on my handy calculator when I got home and realized 24 @ .80 cents was much better. Oh well I'll have lots of pretty colours from the 64 packs! Just wait until you see what I make with these...super cute! Another great deal was the vinyl it was on clearance at Walmart for $5.00 which it is usually $10.00 here. Funny though only the blue was on clearance (is there something wrong with the blue)?

As for the lifetime supply of RSVP pens...I just discovered how to insert patterned paper into them to make them match some cute notebooks I have been making. (I'll show you these soon too)! I went to Staples first and had purchased the 12 pack for 10 something and when I went to Walmart and saw the 3 packs on for $1.97. I freaked out and bought a lot! I worked it out and I paid about.87 cents a piece for the 12 pack pens and  only .66 cents for the 3 packs!

Oh those bubbles in the first picutre are not going to be used for scraping if you are wondering. They say they are touchable bubbles that won't break. I got them to use as prizes for the students I tutor but I have a feeling I may end up keeping those and testing them myself lol! And the Nibs in the second picture are my scraproom stash!

Doesn't looking at what other ppl buy just inspire you to want to shop! oh and craft lol
