BBTB2 Challenge

Hello Crafters,
What a productive weekend this feels like. I think it may be because my wonderful fiance cleaned all the floors and did some of the laundry while I was out shopping with a friend yesterday. And no you can't borrow him :) Because all that was done it means I have had a great deal more time then usual this weekend to play in my craft room.

The challenge over on Bitten by the Bug Blog is to make something using the fishing cut from A child's Year. I don;t own this cartridge but can always use more masculine cards in my stash. So I made one using the fishing cut from the Going Places cartridge.
Hope your weekend is going as great as mine!
Tara

Scrappy Moms Challenge

Hi again,
I have been on a roll this weekend! Here is a card I made for the Scrappy Moms challenge. Sadly, I do not own any Scrappy Moms stamp sets but that doesn't mean that I don't love them! Any and all of their sets are on my never ending wish list! :) To be fair I didn't want to use any other stamp brand on this challenge so instead I printed off a sentiment from my computer. I am impressed with myself when reviewing this card as I used my cuttlebug (heck, it was already out and dusted off lol) and I finally used some of those hundreds of eyelets I just had to have after getting my Big Bite for Christmas (which I must admit has been greatly under used and neglected). My mission to make a card using every cute cut on create a critter (are there any cuts that aren't cute on that cart.?) is now one step closer with this card.

Recipe:
A2 Size Card
Cardstock - Recollections
Ribbon - Offray
Bling - Dollarama
Eyelets - Making Memories (pastel set)

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge

Hello Crafters,
The challenge on the Fantabulous Cricut blog this week was "emboss it". One of my crafting goals for this year is to use more of what I have and that would include dusting off my cuttlebug way more often! Here is the card I made for the challenge. All the information about the card is below the picutre.
As always, thanks for looking!
Tara
P.S. How stinkin' cute is that crown!
P.P.S Her foot is not really covering the sentiment it just looks that way in the photo because of the angle I think.

Recipe:
All cardstock from my scrap pile (more than likely Recollections)
Bling - Dollarama
Sentiment - Pink by Design ("Rock On" collection)
Ribbon - Offray

Blog Award

Hello everyone,
I was super excited to learn that I have received another blog award. It is from Kim at http://www.kimizkraftz.com/.

The following are the award rules:

1). It's a blog award handed over to your favorite five blogs, that has less than one hundred followers.

2). The award is passed on to the five, by commenting on their blog, telling them that their blog is one of your favorites and that it has been chosen for the Liebster Blog Award.

3). The one who receives the award posts a link back to the person who gave it to them, and five of his/hers favorite blogs (you are allowed to choose the person who sent you the award if you wish) with less than one hundred followers.

Now here is where I have run into a problem. I went through the list of blogs I follow and realized there are very few that I follow that have less then 100 followers. I would love to hand this award on to some very deserving people but just don't know who... So my request to you is, if you know someone who has a blog and has less then 100 followers please leave me a comment with their link and I will for sure check them out! Thanks for any and all help you can give me. I'm excited to go visit some new talent!

Scrap Tiffany Challenge

Hello Crafters,
Sorry I have been MIA lately. First I had a cold, then got a terrible flu and just when things were looking up...another cold hit! I am sick and tired of being sick and tired! My craft room has been such a mess because there was a couple times I thought I wanted to craft but then got in there and lost interest. I went in today to tidy up and unearthed a long over due project. Scrap Tiffany had a challenge that was issued on Feb. 1st which I started to make a card for. The inspiration was a colour challenge and since I have such a hard time with these (I have to remind myself a challenge is suppose to be a bit hard, it is to challenge you, right?!) I decided I am going to try to do more of them. Anyways, there was an inspiration board with the colours yellow and grey (loved it! you should check it out, click on the link above and then find the Feb. 1st post) Here is the card I started, oh I don;t know two weeks ago and finally finished by adding the embellishments today. I didn't stamp a sentiment because it is a pretty generic card I can stamp on when I decide who and what I want to give it for.
Thanks for taking a peek and hopefully I will be back with a little more consistency soon!
Tara

Happy Valentines Day!

Hello,
Here is the card I made for Brian this year for Valentines Day. I used my friends Stampin' Up stamps. I think the set might have been called 'Things I Love' but I am not 100% sure. I stamped them at her house last weekend and then whipped the card up this weekend here! I used the Stampin' Up markers to colour in the stamps and I was not super impressed with how the stamp turned out. I am a perfectionist so the faded parts bothered me at first but then looking at them this weekend I thought what the heck...the distressed look is really in right now lol!
As always, thanks for looking!

Roof Shoveling You Say?!

Well, it's got to that point where people are starting to shovel off their roofs because there is too much snow and weight on them. Here is a picture of our roof started (thank goodness I live in an apt. building and the landlords take care of this). I know the picture is not super clear but there is just too much white outside for a picture to turn out even on snow setting right now. In the picture I don't think it looks like a lot, I wish I had of taken it before the men took a break and then you could have seen how deep it was on them, like thigh high!

Here is another picture I took of the parking lot across the road. I thought it was neat how big the banks are compared to the cars.

Also, as you can see in the bottom picture it was sunny but then by the time I took the top one it had clouded over and now guess what....yup it's snowing again! Just flurries though :)

My First Crop

Hey everyone,
I am finally able to say that flu was left the building. It was a horrible week I spent with it. :( On the weekend I was still not feeling 100% but I had plans to go to my first ever crop and nothing was going to hold me back from going! I had the hardest time packing to go though...how do you take an entire room?! I have only ever crafted in my room so I was stressing about what to take and what to leave behind. Here is a picture of what I ended up taking:

I was trying to be very reasonable because I didn't want the other girls there thinking I was moving in! However, When I got there they were shocked at how little I had brought lol. You should have seen the stuff they brought!!! Here is a picture just the stamp section:

There were four us us in total and we took over the dining room at Tena's house. I had no idea what I was going to make when I left my apt. that morning and even though in the end I only ended up with a bunch of die cuts (they had different cartridges then I do) and one card, it was a blast! It was so fun seeing all the different stuff they had and playing around with it. I have never stamped an image and coloured it before and honestly I can say I am hooked! I stopped at Michael's and got myself a set of markers since the crop and I can see a Stampin' Up party in my near future! Here are a few more pictures from the day:

We are thinking about having a crop session once a month! I can't wait!
Tara

P.S. Today is another storm day so hopefully I will get to post again later :)

Hello Crafters,

I am entering this card into a couple challenges. At Fantabulous Cricut where the challenge is to make a card that supports a cause and at 4 Crafty Chicks where the challenge is to follow the sketch.

Card Organzizer

Hello Everyone,
Remember a while back when I got that huge haul at the local bargain basement when everything was 44% off. Well, one thing that I didn't show you was I got a box of 100 legal size file folders for $4.97. They are not your regular ones either these are super thick and sturdy. I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to do with them (our cabinet is not legal size so I knew they were not going to be for filing lol) but my crafty self could not pass them up. I have seen these organizers before and decided I would give it a shot. I am very happy with how it turned out and I may make some more to give as gifts in the future since you know, I have 94 more of these folders haha!

Recipe:
6 Legal size file folders (cut down to size 7" by 12" and then folded)
Recollections cardstock
My & My Big Ideas patterned papers pad
3D flower stickers K&Company
Chipboard letters and butterfly K&Company
Bling - Dollarama
Pink Lace and Tulle - from my stash
Month templates computer generated
(You'll notice I didn't put everyday of the month as I have often seen, I felt this was going to take up a lot of space and honestly who knows someone born on everyday of any month lol. Ten spaces will be lots for me!)
Clear plastic coil binding

Storm Aftermath Video

Hello Everyone,
I know I'll be enjoying this storm day a bit more then yesterday because I am starting to feel better and I think this flu might almost be over. In the video I say that I am heading back to bed because I have been up since 5:30am! That is when the two huge tractors started cleaning the mall packing lot across the road and well they are loud with these really annoying beepers (I think you can actually hear them in the video). I am however going to have to delay going back to bed because now I hear the clean up crew here in my parking lot and must venture out to dig out my car so I can move it for them :S I feel a long hot bath and a nap coming on! haha. Hopefully, I will post again later with a completed project!

Snow Storm Videos

Just blowing in to say "hi" :)
Here are a couple videos I took today of the storm in progress. I took the first one about an hour after the storm had started so I could compare it to when all is said and done. It is about 8 pm now and we have over 20 cm so far and is suppose to continue for the rest of the night with a small break between the systems. They are now calling for 35-40cm by tomorrow morning (including what we got today already). I as excited about a crafting day today but I have been fighting the flu for a few days and I was just not up for it today. Might attempt some this evening!
Stay warm,
Tara

P.S let me know if these videos are not working properly because I just uploaded them from my computer instead of putting them on youtube first.

Made by Momo Guest Designer

Hello Crafters,
I was very kindly asked by Mari to be a guest designer on her blog Made by Momo this week. To say the least I was TRILLED! Her challenge this week was to make something with hearts on it and to use the colours white, black and hot pink. Usually colour challenges scare me but I was on a mission...and I just love how it turned out! Of course I found the white a little boring so I blinged (is that a word?) it up with some glitter glue.
Happy crafting!
Tara

P.S. It looks like a huge storm (or I guess a couple hitting at once) is heading our way starting tonight. They are calling for 25-35 cm of snow by Thursday (we have at least that now), which means tomorrow is looking like a storm day. The bad news is I don't get paid for storm days :( The good news is I will have some great crafting time! I'll be sure to take some storm pictures for you guys and post them! Who doesn't love a good snow storm?! lol
